The written phase will commence on Monday, May 28 and will span through June 15, 2018, in all the centres across Cameroon.

Practicals of this year’s Cameroon General Certificate of Education (CGCE) continued yesterday, May 8, 2018 in Buea with candidates taking their turns at centres including the Bilingual Grammar School (BGS) Molyko and Government Technical High School Molyko. The practicals, which started on May 2 and will run till May 23.

Cameroon Tribune was out on the field to ascertain the smooth process of the exam. Officials, however, prevented us getting to the examination rooms and worse of it taking pictures of the candidates as they explained for security reasons. A busy atmosphere was observed with the Chief of BGS Molyko Centre, Dr. Hannah Mbua ensuring the smooth conduct of the practicals.

For the General Education, there are three practical Ordinary Level subjects, eight for Advanced Level. Four Ordinary Level subjects feature at the Technical Education and nine for Advanced Level. The written phase will then follow on May 28, 2018, and will span through June 15, 2018.

Statistics from CGCE Board indicates that 128 852 students will sit for the June 2018 Session. For each writing day, the examination will start at 8:00 am while the afternoon sessions will commence at 2:00 pm. Baccalaureate and other related examinations in English Language organised by the Board will start on May 22 and will end on June 9, 2018.

Officials of the Board indicated that the examination will be written in all the 10 Regions of Cameroon, with all set for a hitch-free examination. Given the unrest in some divisions in the Anglophone Region, the Board is considering the re-location of centres.

Displaced students in the communities that have unrest who are due the examination equally have their situation under consideration in new centres.
