Some 33 feminine football administrators are currently undergoing training at the Felicia hotel in Yaounde on how to better manage feminine football clubs. According to the National Technical director number 2, Etienne Sockeng, the training is a follow-up to that launched on December 1st during which eight female football clubs were  equipped with 20 balls, 20 boots, jerseys, gloves and tibia protectors.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the workshop on Monday December 7th, the Fifa instructor, Yvon Avry disclosed that Cameroon was chosen from among the 33 other countries who requested for the course due to the performance of the female national football team during the world cup in Canada. He said the course will focus on how to organise the championship, administration, management of both human and material resources, financing, communication and marketing.

The Fifa Development Officer, Seidou Mbombo Njoya said the training was proof of the importance that Fifa accords to the development of feminine football. He said administration is essential to development in the sport and called on participants to be assiduous and disciplined during the training. He said FIFA is available to continue supporting Cameroon.

Representing the president of Fecafoot, Manga Onguene said the course was organised to give actors in feminine football the basic skills to better manage the sports saying though there has been some progress, much is still left to be done to attain the level of professionalism.

The participants at the training were drawn from eight first division clubs, the ten Regional leagues, two second division clubs and the feminine football commission at Fecafoot. The training which began on December 7th will end on December 11th.
