A delegation of female Senators on November 30 handed FCFA 7 million to the team.

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon will be playing the final of the 2016 Women’s African Football Cup enjoying the support, prayers and encouragement of all the strata of the Cameroonian society including that of the Senate. All roads will lead to the Yaounde Omnisport Stadium on Saturday, December 3, 2016 where the final of the competition pitting Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses and the Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be played.

The Vice President of the Senate, Géneviève Tjouès on behalf of the Senate President, Marcel Niat Njifenji led a delegation of female Senators to the Lionesses den at the Mont Fébé Hotel in Yaounde where they handed a token and encouragement gift of FCFA 7 million to the team. She said each of the players has to receive FCFA 250,000 from the money which would help them improve the living conditions of their respective families. She told the Lionesses that Senate President had asked her to transmit the congratulations, encouragement and support of the Senate to the team. « The entire Senate says go ahead, » Senator Géneviève Tjouès told the team.

Team captain Manie Christine Patience on behalf of the Lionesses took the encourage gift from the Senate and expressed their thanks.
